# Knowfer

The fleet's durable memory: a Rails knowledge base agents read and write over MCP.

Knowfer is where durable knowledge goes. Not chat logs, not session notes: facts, decisions, specs and dead ends, organised as a `kb://` tree and searchable with Postgres full-text and trigram indexes.

It is a Rails 8 application with a small read API and an MCP server on top, so any agent on the network can ask it a question or file something it learned. The vault and the notes on disk are derived from it, not the other way round.

The current work is the write gate: evaluators produce evidenced verdicts, and the gate decides what becomes canon, what gets quarantined as probe noise, and what needs a human.
